ODEON O-26 399, issued in 1940.
An original German 78rpm documenting two contemporary march recordings that reflect the sound and themes of the Western Campaign period of World War II, capturing the historical atmosphere of Western Europe at that time.
A-side: “Bomben auf England”
A march song associated with the Luftwaffe film "Feuertaufe", musically illustrating the period’s air-war narrative as it was presented to the public in 1940.
B-side: “Das Frankreich-Lied – Kamerad, wir marschieren im Westen”
A march reflecting the advance into Western Europe, centered on camaraderie and movement toward France.
Both sides are performed by the Musikkorps der Fliegerhorstkommandantur Berlin-Gatow with choir, conducted by Stabsmusikmeister Arno Kühn - a specific military base ensemble, making this recording a direct sonic document of its time.
According to recorded sales history, this exact 1940 issue has previously sold for around €250, underscoring its rarity and collector demand.
