Description
The Bonniwell Music Machine (Sean Bonniwell) : THE BONNIWELL MUSIC MACHINE
Their only lp on Warner Bros. ~ long out of print on vinyl
Mono LP grades Near Mint ~ Warner Bros. Vitaphonic High Fidelity W 1732 ~ White Label Promo ~ First Issue 1967
Record grades Near Mint (with a couple very faint surface marks)
Original Cover grades VG+ with visible but minor wear rings on front & back, a few smudges on the back and very slight edge/corner wear. Bottom seam of the cover has a barely visible split (1 inch) in the center. Spine shows slight wear but is intact & mostly legible with a tiny chip at the very bottom. Top seam has a small (1 inch) split & a tiny chip at the left edge. Front cover is still mainly white with a small amount of yellowing around the edges. Back cover is slightly smudged but does not actually look as bad as it appears in my pitiful scan. Promo sticker is intact and sharp.
The bright white Warner Bros. Vitaphonic High Fidelity promo labels are extremely sharp with no spindle marks etc.
Here is an edited review of this album :
"The Music Machine were renamed The Bonniwell Music Machine when they went to Warner Bros., as the original lineup disbanded at some point, leaving only chief singer and songwriter Sean Bonniwell. Much of the material on Warner, however, was recorded by the original group, and this album was pasted together from some singles (some of which had appeared on Original Sound in 1967) and other tracks, both by the original incarnation and a second outfit that was pretty much a Sean Bonniwell solo vehicle. Accordingly, the tone of the album is pretty uneven, but much of the material is excellent. In fact, some of the songs rate among their best; a few are also found on the Rhino anthology, but other first-rate tunes ("Bottom of the Soul," "Talk Me Down," "The Trap") are not. Some of the cuts (presumably those recorded after the first lineup broke up) find Bonniwell branching out from psych-punk into a poppier and more eclectic direction, sometimes with very good results, sometimes not..." ~ AMG

The Bear Sez : Here is an extremely rare white label promo Mono copy of THE BONNIWELL MUSIC MACHINE, the second overall effort by singer/songwriter/frontman SEAN BONNIWELL. This title was first released by Warner Bros. in 1967. The extremely sharp labels on this copy would suggest that the record was seldom played. This promo disc was not mishandled & looks like new. Thus the record receives a grade of Near Mint (with a couple very light surface marks that are barely visible.) The original cover shows minor wear but is still in VG+ (close to Excellent) shape with slight wear rings and a small bit of edge & corner wear. The spine is mostly intact. There are a pair of very small (1 inch) splits at the edge of the top seam & the center of the bottom seam. The small rectangular promo sticker shows slight wear but remains intact. The black & white record labels are extremely sharp with no spindle marks, writing etc. These "Vitaphonic High Fidelity" labels pre-date the green W7 labels but not by much. As always, the record comes with its' original vintage inner sleeve. Any vinyl copy of is a scarce item. This item is a white label promo in Mono with the original cover & a promo sticker. It features both sides of the two singles The Music Machine released as singles while they were between lps and 10 newer songs all penned by the enigmatic Sean Bonniwell. The cover has a few minor flaws but it remains in collectible condition. The record looks fabulous & sports promo labels to boot. This album would be perfect for any Psychedelic collector. The title did not sell well and there aren't many of these lps floating around, (especially not white label mono promos.) Don't snooze on this gem. Tune in & turn on with The Machine !!
