HYLAND, BOOKA TRACKS: I Dig Girls / Sweet Thing LABEL: Lee Gordon LS-594 STEREO/MONO: YEAR: 1960 MADE IN Australia CONDITION: RECORD: Very Good+ (some light surface marks with occasional crackle and pop). SLEEVE: Not applicable - The record comes in the ORIGINAL RECORD COMPANY paper sleeve ( which has some light wear to edges) (Grading system is per US "Osborne's Official Price Guide” book and is predominantly visual but records normally played also) NOTES: One of the pioneers of Australian rock, Booka Hyland began his career in 1956 entering talent quests in local pubs. Six years later he became lead singer for the Leedons who of course the became Booka Hyland and The Leedons. Then 4 years as lead singer for The Chessmen. Booka Hyland appeared on Six O'Clock Rock, Bandstand, Teentime and Rockville Junction, singing songs that included "I Dig Girls", "Is It Me?" "Sweet Thing", "The Right Time", "Transistor" and "We've got Something Going". 45
