BOOKER ERVIN – THE BOOK COOKS – BETHLEHEM BCP 6048 – VG MONO

This is Booker Ervin’s first recording session and it was recorded on April 6, 1960. It features Booker Ervin on tenor, Zoot Sims on tenor, Tommy Turrentine on trumpet, Tommy Flanagan on piano, George Tucker on bass and Dannie Richmond on drums. SIDE 1: THE BLUE BOOK; GET IT and LITTLE JANE. SIDE 2: THE BOOK COOKS; LARGO and POOR BUTTERFLY. This gets a VG Rating. This is a MONO recording.

I have based my VG rating for the LP for the following reasons. There are some marks on the vinyl, but they are light - Side A has a few skips at the beginning. There are marks on both sides of the spindle hole. There is a taped bottom and top seam on the record jacket.
