Description
Up for auction is a rare copy of the rare album "Booker Little 4 & Max Roach" released on United Artists Records (UAL 4034) in 1959. This is an original deep groove mono pressing. Session also includes Tommy Flanagan, George Coleman, and Arthur Davis. The cover is in beautiful shape, lamination glossy with no ring wear or rubbing. Rear cover is bone white and unmarked. Corners sharp, seams are tight, no splits. A couple corners have the tiniest amount of rubbing to them, almost not worth mentioning. Spine has one tiny crack that's really easy to miss. Otherwise, the cover looks not much different from the day it came out of its original shrink wrap. Call it Near Mint (NM). The vinyl looks really nice, too. High gloss luster and sheen. One really small hairline on Side 1 that does not affect play. Some very faint and superficial hairlines from taking vinyl in and out of paper inner sleeve. Otherwise, a very clean looking disc. I've play tested this record, and it sounds great with only a hint of any background noise from time to time. Call the vinyl EX++. If it's weren't for the one tiny hairline, I'd grade it Near Mint-. Either way, this is a very nice copy of a highly collectable title. Most of the nicer copies of this title that show up are promotional or stereo copies. This one is more rare in that it's not a promo copy (many jazz collectors don't want promos) and it's not stereo.
