BOOTS MUSSULLI – STAN KENTON PRESENTS BOOTS MUSSULLI – CAPITOL T-65006 – M-/EX - MONO There are two sessions on this Capitol recording. The first, recorded in Boston on June 14, 1954 features Boots Mussulli on alto and baritone, Ray Santisi on piano, John Carter on bass and Peter Littman on drums. They perform: LULLABY IN RHYTHM; DIGA DIGA DO; BLUES IN THE NIGHT and LITTLE MAN. The second session, recorded in New York on November 7, 1954 features the same personnel except Max Bennett on bass and Shelly Manne on drums replace John Carter and Peter Littman. Their selections are: RUBBER BOOTS; LE SECRET; FOUR GIRLS; EL MOROCCO; MUTT AND JEFF; YOU STEPPED OUT OF A DREAM and TICO TICO. This is a MONO recording.
I have graded the LP as M- and the record jacket as EX for the following reasons. The vinyl on the LP is clean of any marks on either side of the LP. There is little sign of wear in or around the spindle hole. The record jacket is near excellent condition, with no taped seams. There is shelf wear on the cover of the record jacket, which brings down the grading to EX. It comes with its original paper sleeve.
