In 1986, American hard rock legends Boston released their third studio album. It took a long time to finish. EIGHT years from the time that the second album ('Don't Look Back') was released until the release of 'Third Stage'. Let's just say that band leader and founder Tom Scholz is a perfectionist! But the long wait made a lot of fans angry, and they nearly gave up on Boston. But this third album is actually really good! It sold millions of copies worldwide, made the waiting fans happy, and gave the world the big hits "Amanda", "Cool The Engines", and "We're Ready".

Original lead singer Brad Delp passed away in 2007, and drummer Sib Hashian, who plays on this record along with Brad Delp, passed away in 2017. (RIP to both Brad Delp and Sib Hashian. You guys were both amazing musicians, and are truly missed. Thanks for the legacy of great music that you helped create!)

Boston and MCA Records released the album on a special, limited edition UK import picture disc LP! It's awesome, and is the spaceship artwork from the album's cover on the A side, and a pic of the band's drumset and song titles and credits are on the B side. The rim all around is clear. The vinyl looks awesome, and there's no scratches, gouges, or scuffs on it that I can see! I can't vouch for the sound quality as I never play specialty vinyl, such as pic discs and colored records. And please note that pic discs from the 70s and 80s usually sound terrible, and have a lot of surface noise. (They were made to promote a new album or to be a collectible, and not necessarily to be played.)
