BOY SETS FIRE / JAZZ MAN'S NEEDLE -- hard to find, original 1996 U.S. album. This is an ex. rare DIY private press LP featuring one side each by Hardcore Punk-Emo bands Boy Sets Fire and Jazz Man's Needle. Apparently just over 1,000 copies of this were pressed, and in keeping w/ the DIY ethic, the primitive cover was silk-screened onto the blank white inside of an album cover by a totally different band, turned inside out. (In this case, the cover was originally for the band Empathy.) Music is furious all-out Hardcore assaults interwoven w/ surprisingly melodic Emo/Alt Rock tracks. The tracks by Boy Sets Fire were later re-released w/ a totally different mix on the CD "This Crying, This Screaming, My Voice Is Being Born". Includes original 12-page insert booklet titled "American Civics 101" and "Jazz Man's Needle" on each side, plus flier for the band Empathy. Copies this are extremely hard to come by -- does not come up for sale often. Songs by Boy Sets Fire: Vehicle, In the Wilderness No One Can Hear You Scream, Endorsement, Blame (Live at Eleven), My Own Restraints, Resection; Songs by Jazz Man's Needle: Anchors Aweigh, Horray the Hydrogen Bomb; Of Human Bondage, Dog, King Azuma, Comet. Cover: VG+/VG++, ring wear, wear at corners, glue residue on back cover top and bottom where original cover was sealed and later split open/turned inside out to silk-screen new covers; light blue ink middle of back cover. Record: VG+/VG++, light surface marks, overall very clean, on white private press label stamped "BSF" and "JMN" on each side, U.S. pressing.
