Superb and highly sought-after performance of Brahms’ Piano and Clarinet sonatas by acclaimed perfomers Leopold Wlach on clarinet and Jeorg Demus on piano. This record is from an inventory of 1950s Westminster records from a New York City collector. Unusual to find so many of these rare titles up for sale at once! Great clarity and brightness for a record of this age. This LP is a very pleasing listen!
CONDITION:
COVER: VG+/VG: Light seam splitting in bottom left and right corners, some scuffing to front and back cover (see photos).
LABELS: Side 1— EX ~ Side 2— VG/VG+: mark from old sticker and some small tears.
VINYL: VG: Glossy with light marks. Plays beautifully although with background noise and some pops. First bands of Side A and Side B play with more prominent noise, hence VG overall grade.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to pressing practices at the time these early Westminster LPs tend to have noticeable surface noise, even if visually NM. These records are being sold in the condition they were acquired and would likely benefit from a professional cleaning. They are best played with mono cartridges, which will reduce noise. As I do not have a mono setup, I am grading the records conservatively with a stereo cartridge.
