BRAHMS RCA-2281 Violin Concerto Szeryng-Monteux, London Symphony Orchestra. A very rare issue, perhaps short-lived due to competition from Heifetz version, and Szeryng’s departure to sign with Mercury, RCA’s competitor. Musically, it is more satisfying than the Heifetz but unfortunately quite hard to find. When you hear the gorgeous texture of the massed strings at the beginning of this work you know you are in for a magical Living Stereo experience. One of the most amazing violin concerto records I have ever herd!  1S/1S , Indianapolis Pressing (SIDE 1) VG++, 2 ticks on run-in, super quite. (SIDE 2) VG++, 2 soft ticks 1 minute-in super quite throughout. Jacket VG-, sticker on back. Recorded in England.
