Description

Brahms' sonatas 1 & 2 for 'cello and piano played by Pierre Fournier and Wilhelm Backhaus on London LL 1264. Original 1955 US release, pressed in England for an exceptionally fine record, which sounds incredible. This is one of the great early hi-fi records and this early UK pressing is glorious. The disc is in EX condition, with just a touch of wear, only noticeable in one or two places, mainly at the beginning of side one where there is a little background noise (really just a little) but it quickly disappears and the rest of the album plays near perfectly. The cover has a split at the top edge for about 3 inches, and some of the lamination is peeling, but otherwise it is VG++ and looks just lovely. A really fantastic copy that sounds incredible.
