Brian Jones Presents The Pipes Of Pan At Joujouka A2/B1 2nd Press w/Sticker

This is the second issue of this LP on the Rolling Stones label.  The first pressing had 'Brian Jones plays with...' on both the cover and the labels.  This was disputed so was changed to 'Brian Jones presents...' although the first press covers were still used but with a sticker on the front as per the one on offer here.  Incidentally this still has the first press matrix of A2/B1.

This is still a rare album in its own right and especially one with audio as impressive as this.  It is from the same collection of Rolling Stones' albums that I am selling and the previous owner looked after them incredibly well.

This was recorded in the Moroccan Atlas Mountains after Brian Jones was invited there along with Brion Gysin. Jones then employed stereo phasing echo & other effects back in London way before Dub music & remix culture just a few months before his death.

Play grading

I have played this is in its entirety (yes honestly!) and I am pleased to say it plays with stunning clarity throughout.  There are no clicks or pops and no static either.  I heard only a small number of light ticks on S2 but the playback throughout is absolutely superb.  The vast majority is 'as new' without a doubt.  The labels have barely any spindle wear so judging by this and the audio quality I would say this has only been played two, three times at most.

Visual grading

The vinyl itself is in beautiful condition with no marks or scratches and only a very small number of barely visible 'specks' on S2.  It is visually stunning to say the least and I cannot detect any hairlines either.

The Gatefold & Inner

The gatefold is in superb condition with no edge or spine wear and has no marking at all.  It has only a couple of mega small and insignificant corner rubs.  I can't see any fault really, perhaps just a minimal hint of fading around the edges but it is so minimal.  The sticker with the 'correct' title is very clean also but there is no insert with this particular copy.  The die-cut plain white inner has no side splits or tears and only minimal age related fading and creasing.

I grade according to "Record Collector" guidelines.
