This is Bridget St. John's first studio album, 'Ask Me No Questions' vinyl LP. A rare early original first pressing from 1969. A UK stereo issue, released on the early deep red DANDELION label. Housed in a superb full colour, gatefold picture sleeve with original plain inner sleeve. Early matrix are clear to read in the dead wax,
SBPG 63750-A1 and SBPG 63750-B1

I have listed three early Dandelion LP issue this week . . .

Brief Label History :
Sadly, there's no list as such, of recording dates or locations for Dandelion recordings. However, many of the early Dandelion releases were put down and mixed at CBS Studios in New Bond Street, London; including ("Beau").  Bridget St John recorded some of her tracks; also during the same time of the raucous Stack Waddy!
The engineer for this LP is the same Mike Ross that did Fleetwood Mac and many others. Mike was pretty well the house engineer for CBS at that time.

Dandelion Records began life back in the heady days of flower power as an idealistic venture by British DJ, the late John Peel. The label ran from 1969 to 1972, then the curtain fell. That should have been it. Strangely however, it wasn't. Long before See For Miles and Cherry Red Records began their excellent programmes of reissues, Dandelion had achieved cult status amongst record collectors. Original vinyl LPs in mint condition were changing hands for (frankly) unbelievable prices. They still are.

A little-known fact for trivia enthusiasts: Dandelion was one of John Peel's hamsters. (Come to that, so was Biscuit who generously donated his/her name to D's associated music publishing company.)  The label's high point? Undoubtedly Medicine Head's chart success in 1971 with "Pictures In The Sky". And the low? Well, with hindsight, some would say it was a mistake turning down Roxy Music! But that's rock 'n' roll...

Eighteen acts released twenty-seven albums (plus one compilation "sampler") during Dandelion's three-year existence. Of these, sixteen have current websites or web pages. And they tell a fascinating continuing story.

This is now a super rare and difficult album to find, so don't miss out I only have this one for sale . . .

Vinyl :
This heavy weight vinyl is in EX / MINT condition wonderful unmarked vinyl. One small faint name stamp mark on side 1 of the deep red DANDELION label other wise lovely condition. Tidy undamaged centre label holes. The vinyl remains in superb condition retaining a glorious lustre after 40 years on!.

Sleeve :
This gatefold sleeve is in VG++ / EX condition. The printing is exceptionally bold, and images are sharp. Minor amount of edge wear dinks/creasing. Light damp stain spotting to back and small hole punch (import clip) to back part of gatefold. The whole cover feels very solid. The edges are very firm. Spine is clean and spine text is clear to read. No pen or tears any kind.

Inner Sleeve :
Comes with original plain paper inner sleeve. In very lightly creased condition. No tears with penned cat. log number down one edge.

Tracks :

To B Without A Hitch
Autumn
Curl Your Toes
Like Never Before
The Cuious Crystals of Unusual Purity
Barefeet and Hot Payments

Like To Be With You In The Sun
Lizard-Long-Tongue-Boy
