Description

Rare 2-78 Red Seal album of the Brooklyn Baseball Cantata, composed by George Kleinsinger with lyrics by Michael Stratton, and featuring baritone Robert Merrill. Composed in 1937, this is a 1948 release, the only recording of this work, which is a sort of "American version of Gilbert and Sullivan". Possibly the only baseball-themed operetta in existence. And this is a rare release, which enjoyed only modest success at the time and has been largely forgotten. A true collectors item.

This copy is simply beautiful. Both discs are very near perfect mint and play flawlessly. The cover only has minor shelfwear and is also just beautiful. A rare and precious artifact from baseball's glory years.
