BRUCE HAACK "Zoot Zoot Zoot Here Comes Santa In His New Space Suit"

Ra-Jo International ?– RLP 3000  1981

PLEASE NOTE: MY METHOD OF PACKAGING ENSURES THAT NO DAMAGE TO THE LP COVER WILL OCCUR WHILE IN THE MAIL. I USE RECTANGULAR MAILERS, WHICH PREVENT THE DENTED/CREASED CORNERS THAT YOU OFTEN END UP WITH WHEN REGULAR SQUARE LP MAILERS ARE USED.

Most Bruce Haack fans are probably familiar with this one by now. In 1981, a Bronx-based label called "Ra-Jo International" released a 7" single by Tiny Tim called "Zoot Zoot Zoot Here Comes Santa In His New Space Suit". The song was co-written by Stanley Ace Adams, a veteran pop songwriter, and presumably a relative of Rachel and Joe Adams, the "Ra" and "Jo" of Ra-Jo Intl. In need of a track for the B-side, as they lacked any additional Tiny Tim material, they somehow hooked up with Bruce (probably via Chris Kachulis, who is thanked in the liner notes, and is also known to have facilitated Bruce's deal with Columbia Records), who provided a new version of "I Like Christmas" (which had appeared earlier, in different form, on Ebenezer Electric, and had also been recorded by Teresa Brewer). Perhaps anticipating that the "Zoot Zoot Zoot" single would become Tiny Tim's comeback smash hit, Ra-Jo secured an album's worth of additional Bruce Haack material to fill out a new "Tiny Tim" Christmas album. The album leads off with the Tiny Tim track, and the rest of the album is classic Bruce-- some songs are remakes/alt versions of material from Ebenezer Electric, and two are Christmas standards: "Deck The Halls" and "Jingle Bells". These two tracks, as well as "I Like Christmas" (which appears in 2 different versions on this lp), are performed by "Bruce Haack and the Robot Man" (Bruce doing his "Farad"/vocoder vocals). Of course this album was most certainly not a hit, which is why this is rarely seen on eBay. This is about as difficult to obtain as Bite or the Scholastic records. Awesome top-notch copy for sale here!!!!

Condition:

Vinyl: NM. A few inaudible, superficial impressions from the wrinkled paper sleeve pressing against the vinyl-- often referred to as "sleeve rash" (I will give the record a fresh sleeve-- and include the original, of course). A couple of wispy hairline scratches, light enough that I missed them the first time I looked at this to grade it.

Cover: VG+++. Only very slight ring-wear (which only appears in the upper-center area) and a miniscule crease/bend at the upper-right corner (very small- see photo). Otherwise a very clean, solid, sharp-cornered cover!

Shipping:

USA: $4 for 1 or 2 lps, +$0.75 for each additional

International: Shipping cost will be actual, based on your location. Please wait for an invoice from me before submitting payment. Feel free to message me for a shipping rate for your country- I will get back to you promptly.

Packaging:

I use a rectangular mailer that prevents damage to the corners of the lp cover. Most sellers do not! Record/sleeve will be placed outside of cover (except for sealed lps) to avoid the possibility of splitting. Basically I will package the lp the same way I would want it packaged if I were the buyer!

Grading:

Per Goldmine standards. I will not use the vague "EX" grade. I will use "M" if something actually appears perfect (it does happen, though rarely). I grade under a bright bulb while wearing +3.5x reading glasses, so I see everything. In my opinion, "Sealed" can be a record grade, but is NOT a legitimate cover grade. Cover defects will be noted, even if sealed.

THANKS FOR LOOKING!
