The following details should be used to identify the Bruce’s Portuguese releases:

Portuguese Manufacturer / Editor - In the seventies “Radio Triunfo” was the CBS licensee in Portugal.  First Portuguese releases of “Born to Run” and “Darkness on the Edge of Town were released by Radio Triunfo. In 1982 the new CBS Portuguese subsidiary [CBS (Portugal), Musica e Discos Lda] starts to release the CBS records on the Portuguese market. These Portuguese Editors identification statement can be found on rear sleeve and on the label.

CIRCULO DOS LEITORES (CL) was the largest Portuguese Club Editor, doing special & limited editions of books and records to be sold to its members. The 70's CL's album special editions had unique sleeves and a specific CL catalog number [usually CL-xxxx format]. In the middle of the 80's CL starts to sold to its members the standard Portuguese albums releases, with no CL's identification details or statements on the sleeve or label, except a CL specific catalog number (with a 7xxxx format) printed only on a small sticker on the rear sleeve (the most usual form) or printed directly on the back cover (used on the CBS albums).

There are not any reference of "CIRCULO DE LEITORES" (CL) on sleeves or labels of Bruce Springsteen albums released by this Club . The CL releases are only identified by a second catalog number printed on the rear sleeve, near the standard CBS catalog number [the CL catalog number had a format type 7xxxx]

Number Code in a circle – Like most of the other European releases, each CBS album was a small circle printed on the back cover. This small circle has inside a three numerical digits, which identifies the release or re-issue of the record.

Labels – two main types of CBS labels were used on Bruce’s Portuguese albums: the orange labels and red labels. Orange labels are mainly used on early releases and they are much more scarce. 

Press date (etched on the vinyl dead wax) – some later presses (starting in mid eighties) has the press date etched on vinyl out grooves area (dead wax). This is an excellent detail to date the Portuguese releases.
