A great debut LP from the master vocalist and songwriter, yet to become a legend. A quality first album, and a brilliant band - the compositions are consistent - Bruce's rugged textural singing voice already strong and identifiable. This is a fine first opening album in the series of 70's albums that saw him become a near legendary artist. Strangely this sold VERY POORLY, so it's tough to find either of his albums on the early orange lable. I investigated this lp at the time, yet already it was the colourful yellow/orange design even then Manfred Mann's Earth Band covered 'Blinded By The Light', and really nicely ....they had a hit with it too, which brought some attention to an emerging songwriter..... then in 1974 'Born To Run' and a London appearance basically launched him like juggernaut onto the mainstream (or main 'River' really!)
