Description

"Playback" (or Play :Back") was a sort of  record club for subscribers.  Members received an "audio magazine" both for promotional purposes and for the record company (Columbia, and affiliates like Epic) to get feedback from music lovers. The packages were sent out at regular intervals and contained a 7" record (which actually played at 33 1/3 rpm) and a title sleeve in a mailing envelope. Some (not sure if ALL) came with  a booklet and a returnable questionnaire.

This is the third and last of the legendary Bruce "Play back" releases (#AS66, issued January 1974).  One side is all Rosalita, while the flip has two songs, Stone County (by Johnny Winter) & Transatlantic Westbound Jet (by The Hollies).

Not much to be said for the song, I;'m sure you know all about it! If not: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosalita_(Come_Out_Tonight). Suffice to say that it's one of the most famous "non-release" singles ever (along with Stairway To Heaven, neither was ever released commercially as a single) and one of the most-played. This single is the ONLY way to get it on 7".

Labels & record look pretty much perfect, since it's a styrene pressing I'll give it a NM-.  Sleeve is VG++.

When I found this, it came with the booklet shown here. It appears to not be the right one, because inside the cover it says 'Issue 39', and I THINK it should be Issue 66? For what it's worth, the cover shows Johnny Winter and the article inside talks about his album (Still Alive & Well) and mentions the album track Stone County which is included here. And I have heard that the correct booklet for the Rosalita Playback doesn't even mention Bruce (this one doesn't). But the pictures I've seen for AS66 show a different cover than the Johnny Winter cover on this one. So... I'm not sure but I THINK it's not the correct booklet. But it's functions pretty well as a replacement.  So here's the deal- the booklet's included. Because it adds weight it will be $1.00 more than usual for overseas shipment.  If you don't want the booklet let me know and I'll deduct $1 from the shipping on invoice. USA shipping is the same with or without.
