BUD POWELL “Amazing Bud Powell, Vol 1” RVG, FR, DG, LEX, Blue Note BLP 1503 Mono Vinyl
This is the 1956, first pressing, flat rim, “RVG” etched, Deep Groove, Frame Cover, “P” pressing of BUD POWELL's “The Amazing Bud Powell, Vol. 1” on the "767 Lexington Ave” labels of Blue Note BLP 1503. Musicians include Fats Navarro, Sonny Rollins, Bud Powell, Tommy Potter, Roy Haynes.
FLAT RIM VINYL plays with very light surface noise with occasional ticks. Plays beautifully overall. Ensemble sections very clear, very dynamic, very powerful with clean transients, and full tone. No distortion. An excellent pressing overall. Vinyl has many hairline marks, handful feelable. (If you can’t feel it you won’t hear it). The “767 Lexington Ave” labels show age, spindle wear. FRAME COVER is in good shape. Aging, minor ringwear. Corners worn. Small inkless spot at bottom. Spine and seams show wear, bottom seam has five-inch split, top seam 1” split. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 767 Lexington Ave., New York 21 back jacket shows wear, stains. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
