BUDDY HOLLY Bo Diddley / Brown Eyed Handsome Man MEGA RARE 45RM ACETATE HEAR !!


Very rare 45rpm acetate of Buddy Holly's original recording of Bo Diddley / Brown Eyed Handsome Man.  This record seem to magically appear in a stack of records all from the 1950's.  It was housed in an old blue/yellow RCA company sleeve.  The record is unlabeled except for in the deadwax is scratched "Bo Did".   Visually I guess the record looks like a Strong VG.  The sample I made is with a standard AT LP needle, which is probably not the best needle to listen to these with.  As far as the recording, these are obviously the original 1956 recordings of these songs, long before The Fireballs made their overdubs.  Brown Eyed Handsome man seems to start with a wild speed up and then a volume nudge. It is obvious this disc was made in a hurry.  A few years ago I contacted the studio in Clovis to get their opinion.  Their response was "Looks legit", however they were unable to tell me much more about it.  Like many acetates, its hard to know the real story.  My imagination likes to run wild , especially considering Buddy Holly was actually in Oklahoma City  (where this was found), recording "Maybe Baby"  the year after this recording.

All 45's are packed carefully in corrugated boxes made specifically for 45's. Shipments will be safely secured with bubble wrap and cardboard fillers. 45's are always shipped with a new generic sleeve unless original is more adequate. Picture sleeves and company sleeves are shipped with safety in mind, generally separate from record.  A FRAGILE sticker will be visible on outside of box. Orders are generally shipped out within 24 hours.

Grading: Records are graded visually under a 60 watt bulb. I also test play segments of the vinyl including any questionable marks. All records have been cleaned.

NM   = Vinyl and sleeve should basically look like new
NM- = Just shy of NM, Examples: a mild scuff that does not affect play, a bit of spindle wear, very mild shelf wear.
EX    = May also be listed as VG++. An exceptional record or sleeve with very light play or very light shelf wear. 
VG+ = Used but not abused ! Vinyl may have light marks but still a nice player, Sleeves will have normal shelf wear.
VG    = Vinyl will have more defined flaws such as scratches and background noise.  Music will overpower noise except for possible softer passages.  Sleeves may have more moderate flaws such as ring wear , edge wear, creasing, seam splitting,  but still should be decent.
VG-  =  Slightly more obvious wear than VG G+ or G   =  Vinyl and sleeves will have moderate to heavy wear. Examples : significant surface wear or scratches to vinyl,  water wear, rips and substantial creasing on sleeves. Background noise may be as loud as music, and sometimes they will play better than they look.  I always listen and notate. Any skips will also be notated.
Fair or Poor  = Reserved for rare records that are unplayable or very heavily damaged
