RECORD packaging and shipping method: I am a record collector who understands the importance of securely packing records. I always pad the package well to prevent shifting during transit. I also use industry-standard shipping boxes which are specifically designed for shipping records.
Its hard to find original Buddy Holly albums and its even harder to find them in this condition. A very nice copy of Buddy Holly's self-titled album release March 1958 with the desired maroon Coral label. Great sound throughout.
The vinyl is in VG+ or better condition
(a conservative grade)
Record is as the pictures show. I've cleaned the record on my VPI machine. Some general but very light sleeve scuffs and some light scratches, none that create a skip of course. There is some very light background noise throughout but in general, the record's playback is very nice. There is also a very slight warp in the vinyl that's nearly undetectable and doesn't affect play at all, the new owner may not even notice this. The record looks exactly as the pictures on the left show... It sounds exactly as the mp3 files play below.
The actual, unedited sound file below is provided by my Technics Direct Drive TT with a Ortofon OMP 3E cartridge. I cannot guarantee the record will sound exactly like the file below since every turntable is set up differently.

The labels are in VG++ condition
The pictures of the record's labels show them accurately. Nice original maroon labels here with some very faint needle marks detectable in the right light. Matrix numbers show clearly on the record and are stamped.
The cover is in VG+ or better condition
The many pictures of the cover provide an accurate description. The front cover has beautiful print with nice warm color. It was preserved well due to the album being properly stored in a plastic sleeve for most of - if not all - of its life. Back cover shows very bright white background with sharp grayscale print. There is very little age wear which is hard to find on albums of this vintage. The edges are solid and hold the record well though there are several places where the print has chipped, these areas are closely noted by the pictures on the left. The spine shows well, both top and bottom spine title reads clearly. You'll notice a bend in the bottom corner and subsequent print chipping at edge, the album was like this when I purchased it. I didn't want to attempt to repair the cracking print at this bottom corner because its not a typical area of stress. It hasn't gotten any worse since I've owned the record. Mouth looks fine with just some light contact wear from careful use over the last 55 years. The plain inner sleeve shows some light foxing and a small crease in a corner.
Nice cover and record overall here, not mint of course, but solid and relatively hard to find due to scarcity of the original maroon labels.

I will have the Goldmine Standard in mind when grading but will be taking plenty of pictures to represent the records condition. Any items having multiple condition grades: First grade is vinyl, second is the sleeve.

"Goldmine Standard" grading:
SS = Still Sealed
Never opened. Any flaws (torn shrinkrwrap, creasing) will be indicated in the description.
NM- = Near Mint Minus
Has been opened, but is still flawless
with no damage whatsoever.
VG+ = Very Good Plus
- Vinyl: May have scuff marks and signs of some wear but will still play almost perfectly throughout, with only "barely detectable" crackles or pops. A slight noise at the begining is allowable, but the remainder must be nearly flawless.
- Cover: May only have the slightest signs of normal wear.
The majority of records (worth selling) fall under this grade.
- Vinyl: May crackle, pop or make other annoying noises, but only occasionally,never continuously, and not more loudly than the music being listened to.
- Cover: Normal used cover wear such as ring wear and split seams. If there is abnormal damage such as tears or markings, but the seller still feels that it qualifies as a
"VG", the damage must be described in comments attached to the item.
G+ = Good Plus
- Vinyl: May have continuous crackles, pops, etc... but not so loud as to make the music completely unenjoyable for the casual listener.
- Cover: More than normal wear and tear.
