Description
THIS LP IS CALLED 'THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY' AND IS BY 'BUDDY HOLLY & THE CRICKETS' WITH BACK UP VOCALS BY THE PICKS, THE ROSES, GARY AND RAMONA TOLLETT AND NIKI SULLIVAN.
IT WAS RELEASED HERE IN AUSTRALIA ON THE RED AND SILVER LINES ACROSS THE CORAL LABEL ON CATALOGUE NUMBER CL-7632 ON THE 2ND MAY 1959.
THIS WAS THE FIRST LP RELEASED IN AUSTRALIA AFTER BUDDY HOLLY DIED!
IT IS THE ORIGINAL PRESSING !
HOW AND WHY?
THE LABEL IS THE RED AND SILVER WITH THE NUMBER CL-7632 (IT WAS LATER ISSUED CL-30172) AND HAS THE SPARSE WRITING ON THE BACK. IF YOU LOOK AT THE SCAN FOR THE BACK COVER YOU WILL FIND THAT THERE IS VERY LITTLE TEXT. THE NEXT PRESSINGS OF THIS LP HAVE MUCH MORE WRITING AND PHOTOS OF OTHER LPS ETC ETC.
THIS LP SOLD HERE IN AUSTRALIA IN PRODIGIOUS NUMBERS AND EVERYBODY JUST PLAYED THEM TO DEATH. I MEAN THATS WHAT WE BOUGHT THEM FOR RIGHT?
HOWEVER!
THIS LP IS RARE TO FIND IN A CONDITION WHICH IS OVER VG FOR BOTH THE RECORD AND THE SLEEVE. THE RECORD BECAUSE WHAT I EXPLAINED BEFORE AND THE COVER BECAUSE THEY WERE SO POORLY MADE AND SUFFERED BADLY FROM RINGWEAR.
HERE IS A COPY FOR YOU TO SAVOUR! IT IS FROM MY PRIVATE COLLECTION.
THE TRACKS OF COURSE ARE:
RAINING IN MY HEART, EARLY IN THE MORNING, PEGGY SUE, MAYBE BABY, EVERYDAY, RAVE ON, THAT'LL BE THE DAY, HEARTBEAT, THINK IT OVER, OH BOY, ITS SO EASY AND IT DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE.
THE LABELS ARE CLEAN AND CLEAR WITH THE SPINDLE SHOWING VERY VERY SLIGHT SIGNS OF PLAY.
THE SLEEVE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
THE RECORD IS IN EXCELLENT+ CONDITION BUT I WILL DOWN GRADE IT TO EXCELLENT. GREAT SHINY SURFACE.
PLAYS LOUD AND CLEAR.

All vinyl listed on auction has been cleaned, played and visually inspected so that you may bid with confidence. Albums (LPs) and Extended Plays (EPs) are sent with the record outside of the cover and placed in an outer plastic sleeve (to prevent ring-wear) before safely packed.
Where required, the sleeves have been cleaned with a secret formula to eradicate as much ring-wear and built up dirt as possible.
Multiple items won will be combined to save on postage.
ENQUIRIES ARE WELCOME AT ANYTIME, HOWEVER, PLEASE ALLOW 24 HOURS FOR A RESPONSE AS I MAY BE AWAY.
For grading purposes I play side one only of an EP or 45 (mainly the ‘A’ side) and a few tracks on side one of an LP.
I also grade records on a perceived appearance basis. I then combine them for an overall grading. I believe this to be the most effective way of grading records. Some records can look ordinary but they play well and vikky vika.
If unhappy with my product in any way please contact me, Roddy Jordan by telephone 02 66875339 or overseas 011 61 2 66875339 or by email: hollysbuddy1@bigpond.com or at 18 Montwood Drive Lennox Head 2478 N.S.W. Australia.
I do not accept any responsibility for lost parcels especially to France.

I use the English Record Collectors Magazine Guidelines for gradings as this appears to be the generally accepted term of reference with variances to + or minus. Below are grading scales.
GRADING DEFINITIONS FROM THE ENGLISH RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE
MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just about playable, but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
THERE ARE VARIANCES + OR - TO THE ABOVE ASSESSMENTS.
