Description
You are bidding on BUDDY HOLLY PEGGY SUE / EVERYDAY.
This is a 78 RPM on Coral 61885 Canadian issue. Includes original Coral sleeve in great shape.
Shellac is a very glossy VG++ with some minor scuff marks and a few light superficial hairline scratches.
Play graded on my Magnavox 78 RPM Record demonstrator , sound is loud and clean.
Included is the Commerative 50 years later January 28-Feb, 2 Surf Ballroom program.
This is a 32 page booklet avaiable only at the surf Ballroom in 2009. It conatins photos , historical notes, interviews,comments by the Valens family of that tragic day on Feb.3, 1959 of the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper - THE DAY THE MUSIC DIED
The cover is signed by the following:
TOMMY ALLSUP –joined Buddy Holly as a guitarist for the winter dance party tour in 1959.
JERRY ALLISON – original drummer of the crickets and co-wrote Peggy Sue.
SONNY CURTIS - Curtis joined The Crickets after Holly's untimely death in 1959, and soon took over the lead vocalist role in addition to lead guitar.
ROBERT MORALES - Ritchie Valens half-brother.
CONNIE LEMOS – Ritchie Valens sister.
IRMA NORTON - Ritchie Valens sister .
BOBBY VEE - Vee's career began amid tragedy. On "The Day the Music Died" (February 3, 1959), the three headline acts in the line-up of the traveling 'Winter Dance Party'
There are 3 additional signature but I’m not sure who they are.
This Peggy Sue 78 RPM ( with Jerry Allison's signature who co-wrote Peggy Sue) plus this commemorative booklet signed by members of the Valens family is a unique piece of rock and roll history and would make a great addition framed and next to your jukebox. You will rarely get another opportunity to own a piece of rock and roll history.
