BUDDY HOLLY "THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY" 1965 U.S. Coral mono greatest hits LP featuring "Peggy Sue", "That'll Be The Day + 10. Exact issue of LP originally released in March, 1959. Mono CRL 57279. M-/M. 

Buddy Holly has gone down as one of the early legends of rock'n'roll despite being killed in a plane crash in 1959 at the young age of 22. He racked up several big hits in his recording career in the span of under 3 years & they are all contained on this greatest hits comilation LP that was orignally issued just 2 months after his untimely death in February, 1959. This album is a 1965 pressing judging from the other Buddy Holly LPs pictured on the back cover but it is exactly like the 1959 version. It combines songs released under the name Buddy Holly on Coral as well as those of his group- The Crickets which appeared on Brunswick. All the big hits are here- "That'll Be The Day", "Peggy Sue" & "Oh Boy" in addition to the 45s that have become classics in the intervening years- "Rave On", "Maybe Baby", "It's So Easy", etc., 12 classics in all.

12 tracks- Raining In My Heart, Early In The Morning, Peggy Sue, Maybe Baby, Everyday, Rave On, That'll Be The Day, Heartbeat, Think It Over, Oh Boy!, It's So Easy & It Doesn't Matter Anymore . 

Cover is MINT except for a minor corner "ding" on the lower right side & a nearly negligible mark on the right side of Buddy's head on the cover. The back cover is white with no aging. Still crisp & intact with no split seams- rated at near MINT. The record looks & sounds great with only a miniscule blemish on track 1 that does not affect play. Overall rating is MINT. Black Coral mono labels with a "rainbow" logo that denote a 60s pressing are in great shape. Comes with the correct Coral inner sleeve depicting other releases of the era. Played only once!
