Description

Welcome! Here is a first UK press of Budgie In for the Kill (MCA MCF 2546). This was Budgie’s fourth album, with a lineup of Burke Shelley, Tony Bourge, and Pete Boot. This is the original issue with a fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve, original inner sleeve, and PERFECT sound quality!

Matrix numbers and mother/stamper codes are:

Side 1: MCF 2546 A-1 1 M.

Side 2: MCF 2546 B-1 1 M.

Using the Record Collector grading system, what do we have here?

Sleeve: The fully laminated single sleeve grades Excellent-. The sleeve is signed “Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.” There are typical laminate creases, plus one crease of about 5 inches that is visible mainly from the back. The far right edge of the front, where the lamination ends, is slightly soiled; this is also true for the entire top edge, which is not laminated. (Interestingly enough, this top edge has the same text printed as the spine; see my photos.) There is only minor laminate lifting along the spine on both the front and the back. Corner wear is truly insignificant here. The glossy finish really makes this cover stand out on both front and back. The spine is strong; my camera’s flash casts a glare over some of the lettering, but all lettering is intact.

Vinyl: The vinyl grades Mint- to both the eye and the ear. Really, you could not possibly upgrade this vinyl!

Labels: Both rainbow MCA labels are strong, with only truly negligible spindle tracking.

Inner Sleeve: This album has its original Decca inner sleeve with a 3-74 date code, exactly right for this album. It looks like a sticker of some sort was removed from the side with the date code, near the top, resulting in some slight surface paper loss. Otherwise, this inner is in fine condition, with no splits and only very minor soiling near the bottom of both sides. The white is very bright throughout.

And, in the end: Another powerful album from one of the most underrated power trios, and with playback quality that could NOT be improved upon! Please e-mail me with any questions.

Returns: Full return privileges (less shipping and listing fee) if dissatisfied, but I bet you won’t be! Please pay by PayPal. Thanks and good luck!

About Me: I am not a dealer, but a longtime collector in the occasional process of dispersing my collection of English and German prog, rock, and blues albums.

Shipping: I will ship to ANY country on Earth! Pursuant to my statement above that I am not a dealer, I do NOT gouge anyone on shipping costs. If you are in the USA, figure on $4.00 for good ‘ol Media Mail; of course, you can do Priority, Overnight, you name it. For shipments outside of the USA, I use the value that eBay shows for First Class Mail International; if the actual price turns out to be less, I will post an immediate refund for the difference.

Insurance: If you would like, I will get an insurance quote for you. I pack things very well, but if you choose to not buy insurance, I will not be responsible if something nasty happens.

Namaste, everyone!
