BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD ''AGAIN'' ORIGINAL 1ST US PRESSING CAT NO SD33-226 ((STEREO)) ON ATCO THREE TONE PURPLE/WHITE/BROWN LABELS!  1967 ORIGINAL! SUPERBE NEAR MINT COPY, COVER WITH ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP! BARELY EVER PLAYED NO MORE THAN TWO OR THREE TIMES EVER! AWESOME TOP NEAR MINT AUDIO!

Another from my personal collection! Original US import pressing, Purchased from new over 40 years ago. Initially only ever played to record to tape and then stored in a case with the vinyl seperated from the cover for protection. This is how I have always stored my records! Play tested at loud volume on a top system prior to listing. The audio is absolutely stunning, cristal clear and very vibrant. The fact that this vinyl has had no more than three or four plays ever, makes this awesome original highly collectable and extreemely sought after like this! The original thick card type US printed cover still has its original shrink wrap (it has been opened at the opening edge only) 

Buffalo Springfield is a North American rock group among the first wave of North American rock bands such as The Byrds and Lovin' Spoonful to become popular in the wake of British invasion bands. Appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show served as a springboard for the careers of Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Richie Furay and Jim Messina. Buffalo Springfield is best known for the song "For What It's Worth", a political anthem written by Stills in response to an LAPD assault on young hippies. After the band's formation in April 1966, a series of disruptions, including infighting and the pressure of working in the music industry, resulted in constant changes in the group's lineup and ultimately culminated in the group's disbanding after roughly 25 months. Buffalo Springfield released three albums but left many demo recordings, studio outtakes and live recordings, as well as a reputation for excellent personnel and high band dysfunction. Despite the band's short tenure and limited output it was one of the most influential bands of the 1960s, with several solo careers, subsequent bands, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recognition for Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills and Nash, and Neil Young separately. CSN, CSN&Y, Poco, Loggins and Messina, and Neil Young with Crazy Horse were immediate successors!!

Neil Young and Stephen Stills first crossed paths in 1965 at the Fourth Dimension in Thunder Bay, Ontario!

 Young was there with The Squires, a Winnipeg group he had been leading since February 1963, and Stills was on tour with The Company, a spin off from the Au Go Go Singers. Although the two would not see each other again for almost a year, the encounter left both with a strong desire to work together!

 When The Company broke up at the end of that tour, Stills moved to the West Coast, where he worked as a studio musician and auditioned unsuccessfully for, among other things, The Monkees.[ Told by record producer Barry Friedman that there would be work available if he could assemble a band, Stills invited fellow Au Go Go Singers alumnus Richie Furay and former Squires bass player Ken Koblun to come join him in California. Both agreed, although Koblun chose to leave before very long and rejoined the group 3's a Crowd. In early 1966 in Toronto, Young met Bruce Palmer, a Canadian who was playing bass for a group called the Mynah Birds. In need of a lead guitarist, Palmer invited Young to join the group, and Young accepted. The Mynah Birds were set to record an album for Motown Records when their singer Ricky James Matthews (later known as Rick James) was tracked down and arrested by the U.S. Navy for being AWOL. With their record deal canceled, Young and Palmer decided to head for Los Angeles where they hoped to hook up with Stills. Roughly a week later, discouraged at having been unable to locate Stills and ready to depart for San Francisco, they were stuck in traffic on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles when Stills, Furay and Friedman, sitting in their white van, recognized Young’s black 1953 Pontiac hearse, which happened to be passing by in the opposite direction. After an illegal u-turn by Furay, some shouting, hand-waving, and much excitement, the four musicians realized that they were united in their determination to put together a band. Drummer Dewey Martin, who had played with country artists such as Patsy Cline and The Dillards, was added to the roster less than a week later after contacting the group at the suggestion of the Byrds' manager, Jim Dickson. Taking their name from the side of a steamroller, made by the Buffalo-Springfield Roller Company, that had been parked on the street outside Friedman’s house (where Stills and Furay were staying), the new group debuted on April 11, 1966 at The Troubadour in Hollywood. A few days later, they began a short tour of California as the opening act on a bill featuring the Dillards and the Byrds!

Buffalo Springfield ''Again'' is the second 1967 folk rock album by Buffalo Springfield!.

The recording has been stated by some as tense and protracted because Young was often absent and the band was unable to keep a permanent bass player. (The group's first bass guitarist, Bruce Palmer, spent much of the sessions detained on drug charges.) A number of Los Angeles session players also make appearances. Among the notable tracks are Young's minor hit, "Mr. Soul". The album also includes two orchestral experiments Young produced with Jack Nitzsche, a Phil Spector associate: "Expecting to Fly" and "Broken Arrow". Both tracks were intended for solo release, and feature Young only, backed by session players (though Furay overdubbed a harmony vocal on the latter). Stills contributed four tunes, among them "Rock and Roll Woman", a song co-written by an uncredited David Crosby and allegedly featuring Crosby on backup vocals. (He had just been fired by The Byrds) This song was probably the first collaboration between Stills and Crosby. Simultaneous tension in the Buffalo Springfield, the Byrds, and The Hollies would eventually result in the formation of Crosby, Stills & Nash.

The Vinyl

The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable. On initial inspection the vinyl indeed looks as new in my opinion. As good as the day I purchased it over 40 years ago! Unbeleivably rare to find like this!

Any marks that could possibly be seen angled to the light would be sleeve removal only, to be honest I can't see anything this look like a new vinyl in my personal opinion!

The vinyl

I have play tested the vinyl prior to this listing at loud volume on a top system! The vinyl plays through as good as the day I purchased this over 40 years ago, Stunningly clear and vibrant throughout! Almost as goos as it gets! Any static that is common on these US Atco pressing are very very minimal a few and far between! Audio is graded at least excellent plus to near as mint on my systems!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for very minor static, isolated surface noise perhapes heard in between some tracks,, not consistant throughout the audio,, Please remember that this is a 45 year old vinyl that would have been played on a 45 year old system!

Please note! This vinyl has been stored in a case laying dormant for over 40 years,, A constant clean before each play is highly recomended. This will reduce any static and will enhance the audio quality!

The Labels

These are the original Atco labels. Look as new in my opinion in fact it is hard to see if this has ever been played,, it is hard to see any spidering at all! No spindle ware the hole is perfectly round!

The Record Sleeve.

This is a plain white poly lined sleeve.

The Cover

This is the original thick card US printed cover! This still has its original shrink wrap from new, has been slit at the opening edge to access the vinyl.

The cover is as good as new no creases splits marks or tares that I can see! Incredibly rare to find like this! Cover graded at least excellent plus to near mint! Looks as good as the day that I purchased this album over 40 years ago!
