BUNNY MARRETT - Times Are Getting Harder, Hard Times Dub / DON GORDON - Running Dub, Creation Dub (Shoc Wave SRP0004) - 12" - 1980 Original pressing of this obscure UK roots 12" featuring Bunny Marrett's Times Are Getting Harder, which is accompanied by its dub, backed by Don Gordon's unrelated Running Dub and Creation Dub. Only a tiny amount of this ultra-rare 12" was pressed, produced by Gene Walsh for the Bristol-based Shoc Wave label. Back-to-back H-E-A-V-Y UK roots of the very highest quality. This soundman copy has seen a lot of action on the musical frontline, the B-side in particular showing some prominent battle scars. The A-side retains a decent sheen with light and lightish surface marks, fine, light hairlines and some light scratches - nothing serious. The B-side has plenty of fine, light hairlines and some prominent scratches and scuffs. However, both sides do play through without sticking or jumping. I have recorded clips of both sides to show the WORST affected areas of each. So, please remember that the record does play better in places. A-side: There is a small / smallish improving to small amount of intermittent background surface noise with very small, small and smallish pops and clicks plus a few moderate ones. Grade - Vocal varies between VG and VG++, Dub between VG-/VG and VG/VG+
B-side: There is a smallish amount of intermittent background surface noise with small, smallish, moderate and prominent pops and clicks. Grade - Track 1 = VG/VG+ down to G, Track 2 = VG/VG+ down to G-
Labels: Both labels are clean and tidy (see scan).
