An unusual FMP release of solo music for the oboe by five East German composers--most of them students of Hanns Eisler--who broke with prevailing orthodoxies to embrace the western avant-garde.
Oboist Burkhard Glaetzner is the soloist in works by Georg Katzer (chiefly known for his pioneering electronic compositions), Reiner Bredemeyer, Karl Ottomar Treibmann and Christfried Schmidt. Friedrich Schenker's "Orfeo" is a oboe-trombone duet where Glaetzner is joined by the composer. Recorded November 5 to 7, 1986 in FMP's Berlin studios. NEVER ISSUED ON CD.
Condition of LP is EXCELLENT-to-NEAR MINT [light play, paper scuff not affecting play]; condition of gatefold cover is NEAR MINT [dealer's sticker backcover].
