Rare original 1970 underground progressive psych gem ...Burnin' Red Ivanhoe made at least two highly collectible $$$ valued lp's in the early 70's ...this one is their first and arguably best -- it certainly contains some excellent works within...

Burnin' Red Ivanhoe's  release certainly should be considered as one of the top albums from 1970 and one of the best ones in progressive rock generally. Scandinavia has produced its fair share of obscure rock acts through the years but none more so than during the heady times of the late sixties and early seventies. Denmark itself has given up a healthy dose of psych acts though many, if not all, remain hidden and the focus only of an elite set of rabid collectors. The one act that do spring to mind with a relatively wide appeal, if still muted, are Savage Rose. Burnin' Red Ivanhoe merge psych with a progressive mindset with more than a hint of folk in their music, sometimes straight sometimes really strange and self indulgent but tinged with a dark humour as they converse in both their native Danish tongue and in English. The electric eclectic baroque tinted "Across The Windowsill" starts the album on a mature purposeful note, some fine vocal and fantastic guitar courtesy of Ole Fick. The jaunty reeds (played by future Secret Oyster member Karsten Vogel) led "Canaltrip" with a neat rolling percussive beat. "Secret Oyster Service" is some half concocted avant garde jazz rock which rambles in and out and on aimlessly before finally getting some where on the five minute mark, but to be fair to the band they could pull off some good improvisation and experiment with many styles, "Showintroucion" and its twin "Showafsluthing" are simply weird while "Mitte" is a good laid back tune with that zany trait of much of the Burnin' Red Ivanhoe's music, and mainly in the vocal department. "Near The Sea" is an all-out classic and would be on par with "Whiter Shade of Pale" etc. if made commercially available and distributed., a hidden gemstone if there ever was one. There are long stretches of burning guitar in heady atmosphere's which should fancy to more than a few collectors out there All in all an interesting and eye opening album and a telling piece of classic Danish progressive- psych and much more

!!!!A VERY HARD FIND!!! Most have been bought up by collectors!! This is hardly offered these days!!

In all my years this is only the second time I have come across this PROG/PSYCH MONSTER. Immensely scarce and probably one of the hardest album to find on WARNER!! Sensational sound quality, I have played this through in its entirety and it was a great joy!!! NO skips or jumps. NO clicks or crackle, this is really a stunning heavy glossy jet black vinyl .The audio is impeccable. Inspected under an intense light source and angled.

Vinyl: EX .  A sensational find!!! Two or three spins at most. I have played this in FULL twice over> The replay is ASTOUNDING!!! I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more detailed observation. I have played it on my very revealing Linn/Sondek/B&W/Rotel set-up and it sounded fabulous. An absolute keeper / museum piece. Fantastic songcraft!! A personal favourite of mine and I am very glad to be able to report that this is a fine slab of vinyl without any problems at all and as such worthy of inclusion of any great prog collection. This will be an ultimate upgrade version for most collectors.  Outstanding audio delivery in all respects with a crystal clear, deep, rich, warm and detailed sound and on playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my LPs prior to listing and it's always an immense pleasure to return to this one) there is barely any surface noise. This is a beautifully clean pressing (and I must emphasise again how difficult it is to find a copy which plays this well). The whole LP sounds absolutely great and plays to a high standard with superb clarity, no groove-wear and no distortion and is very strictly graded a strong EX+  for audio without anything untoward, hardly any static or crackle at all - great copy!! Of course, NO skips, NO jumps, NO ticks.

Sleeve: VG++ to EX.  A gorgeous Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. sleeve in impossible barely handled condition. The edges have only very light storage wear! The spine is 100%. The opening is  crisp. A couple of tiny thumb creases on the opening.  An LP that is rarely ever seen these days and possibly one of the last ever opportunities to achieve a copy in this marvelous condition.

This is a unique investment opportunity!!! The next prog album to go completely through the roof. Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible so late in the day. Get this while you still can. This value of the album is only going to go one way ... up and up ... until it will be totally unavailable at all for a reasonable price.

Important : International postage will be registered and insured if over GBP 20.00.  Please wait for my invoice before paying. Postage will be according to Royal Mail rates. Postage is NOT a money spinning exercise for me.

Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items, I always try my very best to describe everything exactly!  PLEASE REMEMBER to contact me FIRST,  if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one!  I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem!  This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Similarly with the amount of stars, anything less than a full 5 * rating is effectively detrimental to a seller's rating as lower ratings will incur higher Final Value Fees  and lower priority in the bidlists eventually making it unattractive to list items on Ebay at all. I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again. Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem.  Thanks again!!

This an excellent investment opportunity!!! Any questions please ask me and I will try to answer soon.
