Filosofem, the last Burzum album recorded before the Varg's imprisonment, came out under Misanthropy Records in early 1996. It's success was unprecedented for a 'Black metal' album, getting into the 'Indie' charts in the UK and recieving great reviews from relatively mainstream music magazines. It was also a big success in Europe and Norway (obviously).
This version of the original Misanthropy release comes as a double LP with three sides of music with the final side being an excellant etched picture of the ghost on the viking ship as detailed in the accompanying booklet
