This is the rare 1967 UK MONO 1st Press of 'The Resurrection Of Pigboy Crabshaw' by The Butterfield Blues Band. This 1st press is on the orange Elektra label. It has the earliest A1//B1 matrix and the 1st UK Press 'Polydor Records Limited' fully-laminated sleeve. The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. This is one of The Butterfield Blues Band's rarest LPs. This is an amazing PSYCH-BLUES classic!!! Any fan of Paul Butterfield, The Butterfield Blues Band or 60s music in general will want this in their collection.
The record is in Very Good condition. It is clear this LP has not been played much at all. It has a bright shine with a few MEGA light harlines (only visible under bright sun or lamp light) on each side. On playing the sound is extremely good, sharp and clear, but there are some VERY LIGHT touches of static. This crackle is mainly at the intro, it clears to light background crackle and a very few infrequent light pops. The vinyl plays with NO clicks, NO loud pops, NO jumps, NO skips, NO sticks, NO warps, NO severe crackle, NO groovewear and NO distortion! The blue PYE label has retained its clear blue colour and the black text is bright and sharp. There is only some very light spindle wear. It is complete with an original blank inner sleeve.
The 1st press UK fully-laminated sleeve is in Excellent condition. The laminate is very shiny and the image is still sharp. There are only one or two creases to the laminate on both sides (and you have to be looking for them). The printing is bold and clear. The whole cover still feels very solid and the spine is firm with clear text. There is NO significant cornerwear, NO writing, NO spinal wear, NO edgewear, NO warping, NO writing, NO feathering to the opening edges, NO splits and NO tears!!
