Description
RARE first pressing of Buzzcocks' four-track debut EP on New Hormones label - in original black and white paper picture sleeve.
Most copies you'll see advertised here on eBay are re-issues from 1979 or later while those on other sites like Discogs generally come with a much heftier asking price.
This example is from my own personal collection and was bought by me within the first week or so of being released in 1977. An easy way to spot the difference between this copy and later versions is the "with Howard Devoto" printed below Buzzcocks name on 1979 reissues.
Matt picture sleeve is in very good+ condition with slight edge wear/creasing/discoloration around the edges and slight ring wear - all consistent with a record of this age that has been handled and played with what I would describe as reasonable (and loving) care. No dings, dents, splits or other wear and tear/damage.
Silver injection-moulded labels are in excellent/near-mint condition.
Vinyl in very good+ condition with a few light surface marks consistent with pulling in and out of sleeve/playing. Two small nibbles also visible (see photos) in the very outer edge of where plastic pressing process has left some "flash" all the way around the record. This was present when 45 was purchased (last copy they had) and doesn't affect playability as it doesn't intrude on the run-in. Both sides still play really well with no background hiss or clicks etc.
"Eat the beat" etched into runout on A side, which features Breakdown and Time's Up. B side tracks are Boredom and Friends of Mine, with "Pulse Out" etched into the runout.
All four tracks were recorded "live at Indigo Sound Studio Manchester 28.12.76".
A real authentic punk/rock'n'roll must-have for anyone of a certain vintage who wants to replace a missing/lost/stolen copy or a newer fan with a gap in their collection.
