Cult record. Cult band. Original first UK pressing from the noble year of 1977. As you know, this legendary all-time classic is part of UK Punk History. Your collection will be much richer for this addition, the record that really kicked off the DIY scene, and showed that anyone could issue a record. Released by the band themselves on their own private mini-punk label ‘New Hormones’ records in January 1977 (catalogue number ORG-1). As you know, the second pressing was born in the same cover but has ‘With Howard Devotoprinted on the front of the sleeve and on the paper labels which were dated 1979.  This is NOT that second pressing. Listen to four perfect punk stompers. ‘B-o-o-o-o-o-redom, B-o-o-o-o-redom, Baa-Dum-Baa-Dum’ is a super-dooooper trooper, topped with superb lyrics. Their first 7“ which goes by the title SPIRAL SCRATCH also includes the Do-It-Yourself punk blasts ‘Breakdown’ / ‘Time’s Up’ and ‘Friends Of Mine’. This is definitely a four winners no fillers formula which makes it hard to separate from the UNDERTONES first EP which is of equally great stature. Once again, this one does NOT have the ‘Howard Devoto’ credit on front of the sleeve and has the original plastic moulded labels. Don’t miss this 4-tracker from Manchester, the home of the FAST CARS, V2, JOY DIVISION and PANIK. The vinyl is still in excellent condition. The sleeve is used (see scan). All-time classic !!
