Description

A genuine 1972 UK First Pressing of Babe Ruth’s seminal debut album, First Base. This copy features the highly sought-after earliest matrix stamps and the iconic gatefold artwork by Roger Dean.

Key Pressing Details:
• Label: Harvest (EMI)
• Catalogue Number: SHSP 4022
• Matrix / Runout (Stamped): Side A: SHSP 4022 A-1 | Side B: SHSP 4022 B-1
• Label Text: Features "The Gramophone Co. Ltd" perimeter text (indicative of the earliest 1972 labels).
Condition Report:
• Vinyl: The record retains a beautiful high-gloss shine. Under strong light, there are only a few faint surface wisps/hairlines that do not affect play. No deep scratches or "feelable" marks.

• Sleeve: Original textured gatefold sleeve. The Roger Dean artwork is vibrant. There is light shelf wear/feathering to the top edge and corners as expected for its age, but the spine is solid and readable. No splits or writing. Inside the cover has its original price sticker which I did not want to remove.

• Inners: Includes the original EMI "Care of Your Record" inner sleeve.

• Note: This copy does not include the separate lyric insert.
