Description

There's Something Going On - 2nd full-length LP from deviant genius Stephen Jones, on lovely first pressing vinyl from 1998. Outer sleeve very good - a few marks and creases, and one tiny spine rip, but very sound; picture inner excellent, only very minor ring wear; disc very good+ - a couple of very light scuffs, not having any real impact on sound.
A gem hiding in the long grass, a scary, spooky plastic duck lurking in the overbright plastic flowers - you either get it with Babybird, or you don't. His one runaway hit 'You're Gorgeous' was hopelessly misunderstood - and is a million miles from the sunny, singalong anthem most took it for. This album too is strictly for well after the 9pm Watershed consumption - for those who relish something a lot, lot darker. True to form, Stephen Jones is crooning about all sorts of crazy, twisted things, in a sickly falsetto, to an innocent-sounding tune. If you're strangely entranced by this murky mindset, There's Something Going On will not disappoint. 
Rare as hen's teeth on vinyl - totally absent from Ebay and Amazon - and over £40 on Discogs, plus ruinous international postage. Grab it while you can.
