Description

Bach: Cantata No. 4 {"Christ Lay in the Bonds of Death") (Complete) and
Cantata No. 140 )"Sleepers Wake" (Excerpts) - Orfeo Catala de Barcelona;
Lluis Millet, cond. Recorded in  Barcelona, Spain 1929/30. Sung in
Catalan - Victor Red Seal Album M-120 (4-12" original first U.S.
edition scroll  red seal orthophonic label  discs 11178/82 in original
brown buckram album. Records mint; album has some cloth missing
from front cover. Intensely dramatic performances.


From the private collection of R. Peter Munves, who was in the record business as well as an avid collector for over 50 years and has decided to part with his beloved collection. All albums are from the late 20’s to early 40’s, and many are original, 1st editions containing pristine pressings from the golden age of 78’s.
