Bach Sonatas & Partitas for Solo Violin. Arthur Grumiaux PHILIPS 6768 017
The 3 LPs are in EX/EX+ condition. There is no surface noise to speak of on all 3 records, and very few pops/ticks. Side 2 has a 5 rev & a 9 rev repetitive tick both which are very quiet, almost inaudible. Side 3 has a 3 rev & a 2 rev repetitive tick both which are very quiet, almost inaudible. Side 4 has a quiet 2 rev tick. Side 5 near the beginning there is a very quiet low repetitive noise, possibly caused by some unevenness on the record surface? It's so quiet I almost didn't notice it. The box is in EX condition. Nicely presentable.
A glorious recording of these incredible masterpieces. Grumiaux plays with great simplicity and precision, getting to the very depths of the music.
his LP comes from a large collection of records owned by a retired music professor that I am selling on his behalf. There are some gems in the collection which I will post for auction soon. I do no grade the records visually, I listen to them in their entirety and try to give as accurate description of the condition as I can.
