Description
On offer is a 1981 LP called BACK HOME TO THE CLIFFS OF MOHIR on Outlet, catalogue number SOLP 1012. From the sleeve-notes: - “The three musicians who make up the Sean Ryan Trio - Sean Ryan, Pat Lyons and Kathleen Ryan - are all musicians who were born into the musical tradition. They grew up with the best in traditional music and traditional musicians. SO it was that when they got together as a trio some years ago each had become an excellent musician in his own right. Each had won a major honour in the field of traditional music including two All-Ireland Championships.”
This vinyl is excellent, with shiny grooves, no scratches, no scuffmarks, no pops, no sticking and no background noise. Perhaps one superficial mark when exposed to very strong light. Labels are excellent, with very minor spindlewear. The laminate cover is excellent, with straight and sharp edges.
The album comes from the collection of the late Ian Chappell, director of the Hampshire-based South Eastern Museums Service. A devoted collector of folk music, Chappell would obsessively buy multiple copies of the same record in search of vinyl perfection. They were acquired by the seller at auction from Omega Auctions of Stockport in June 2012.
