Description
Decca LP SXL 2241 - ED1 Original UK Stereo issue of this record - Wide band label with groove and "Original Recording by" at 10 o'clock. Wilhelm Backhaus performs Beethoven piano sonatas no. 21 in C major Op. 53 (the "Waldstein"), and no. 23 in F minor, op. 57 (the "Appassionata").
Condition: LP: VG, with a good sheen but some light non-sounding scuffs and marks visible on side 2 particularly. Plays excellently. Labels: Exc-, with a couple of small light marks visible. The original blue FFSS inner sleeve in very good condition is also included.
Sleeve: The laminated flipback outer sleeve is mostly in good condition, but the bottom folded-over edge on the reverse is in poor condition, quite badly damaged with fragments missing in the middle and at the spine end. A fragment is also missing from the middle of the reverse open edge of the sleeve (see photo 2). Corners are not great either.
