Description
This album, to put it simply, was recorded twice. Between January and March, 1971, the band first went into the studio (with Geoff Emerick as producer) and recorded their follow-up to the No-Dice album. The group was quite satisfied with Emerick's production, however Apple rejected the tapes and eventually, Badfinger decided to totally re-record the album with George Harrison as producer..They worked with him for about a month on Straight Up before Harrison had to leave for the concert for Bangla-Desh and eventually Todd Rundgren took over as producer. The album ended up being a huge success. However, four of the thirteen songs from Straight Up as it was originally released are produced by George Harrison and the second record of this set features six songs, five from the early recording under Geoff Emerick's production and the U.S. single mix of Baby Blue..
