Band Of Light Rare 1st Press OZ LP The Archer EX ’74 Warner 600011 Prog Rock
Rare Original 1st Press OZ LP released in 1974 on the Green Warner Records label. Cat: 600011. Comes in a gatefold sleeve.
Record has been cleaned on a Pro-ject VC-S2 Record Cleaning machine and listened through for quality.
Second and last album released by Sydney based band Band of light. on the verge of recording their second album, Rilen, Roue and Buettel all left the band. Phil called on Billy Williams (bass, ex Classic Affair) and Dannie Davidson (drums, ex-Tamam Shud, Kahvas Jute) to replace Rilen and Buettel and cut the record, which was titled The Archer and released later in the year. Ray Vanderby (keyboards) and Eddie Hansen (lead guitar, ex-Ticket) were brought in to fill out the lineup for live dates, but neither the single "The Archer" (Nov. '74) nor the album were successful, and the group split in late 1974. Heavy blues prog with tinges of psyche..
Tracks : The archer (A Sagittarian rhapsody)/ Our reason for being/ Silis, the sun/ The seeker/ The invitation/ My black swan/ Indigo heavens/ Bread & wine. There are a few light spindle marks on labels. Record has some light scuff marks that cause some light crackles mostly noticeable between tracks and is in Excellent condition. Gatefold cover has a small surface tear and very light sticker stain on top right corner, light ring wear and a few small surface tears around edges and is in VG+ condition.
Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
