Description

Deep groove, original with 446 W. 50th St., N.Y.C. address on both labels; 447 West 50th St. addre3ss on the bottom of the back cover. Lea sings 12 songs accompanied by Dick Carey, arranger, piano, alto horn, in various combinations with the following musicians: Ernie Caceres, clarinet, baritone sax; Johnny Windhurst, trumpet; Garvin Bushell, oboe, bassoon; Adele Girard, harp; Al Casamenti, guitar; Al Hall, bass, Osie Johnson, drums. Other tracks use some to these musicians with the Jimmy Lyons Trio which includes Lyon, piano; Jimmy Raney, guitar; Beverly Peer, bass. All track personnel is detailed in the notes on the back cover. Lea is an exceptionally fine vocalist with superb accompaniment. Rare original issue. Cover: VG(-) Tape along the top edge and about 10" along the bottome edge. Some corner wear. Aging on the back cover. There is a date written in small print after each tune in the tune schedule on the back cover. Record: VG+ or Better Visually shows no wear. Possibly played a number of times but well cared for. There are some clicks and crackles in places. Possibly more on the first track on each side, but there are some clicks elsewhere. While these are audible, the distraction is minimal and I would consider the genersl quality to be good. As mentioned there is some surface noise. Audibly checked.
