Description

Gustav Mahler: Symphony No.9

Sir John Barbirolli conducting the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

British Ed1 HMV stereo pressing with first semi-circle Nipper labels from 1964. Article-Nos.: ASD 596 & ASDS 597.

Two separate LPs in front laminated flipbacks, side 4 is not playable.

Matrix-Nos.: Side 1: 2YRA 13-1, Side 2: 2YRA 14-3, Side 3: 2YRA 15-3

I already listed this set one year ago but never received payment for it. I then decided to safe this for my annual highlight-auction.


  • Condition Covers: Strong EX. Front laminated lipbacks with very light general wear.

  • Condition Vinyl: NM. Maybe played twice or three times. A couple of faint hairline-marks that don't affect playing.

           Side three has a tiny scratch that produces exactly 3 repetitive tics. Apart from this, audio is virtually NM throughout.

- I use sturdy cardboard-boxes and cardboard-dividers, both specifically designed for the safe shipping of vinyl records.

- Most LPs receive new antistatic innersleeves (in addition to the original ones, which of course are also provided). I, however, don't add new sleeves, if the original ones seem fitting.

A note about my record-grading:

I usually only visually grade the LPs under strong light and I only playgrade them ( i.e. the portions that seem to have signs of usage), if I can't be sure of their actual condition.
If records show stronger signs of soiling I'll professionally clean them (Okki Nokki RCM), but I'm not doing this if it's obviously only dust, as I know that collectors usually prefer their
very own way of record-cleaning.

My goal is to always decribe the records appropriately and I will name every visible and/or audible defect in my detailed description. If regardless of my precautions
you should ever be dissatisfied with the condition of a record, please contact me before leaving negative or neutral feedback to give me the chance to resolve your query.
I'm confident, however, that this will hardly ever be the case. I've been selling records for many years now and so far complaints fortunately have been the utter exception!
