'Baby James Harvest' (SHSP 4023) was the fourth studio album released by Barclay James Harvest in November 1972. It is a lovely, understated album which, despite not breaking into the top ten, still managed to keep their fans happy with such songs as, Crazy (Over You), Summer Soldier, and Moonwater. The photograph (taken by Julian Cottrell) which graces the cover, has to be one of the most simple yet powerful statements ever made by ANY band in popular music.
Cover: Near Mint-....often found in well worn and tattered condition, this one is nearly flawless; the lamination to the front and back gleams.... the delicate and thin spine is near-perfect. This first UK edition has the best transfer of the beautiful photograph taken by Julian Cottrell.
Original Inner-Sleeve: Near Mint-....the unique matte textured inner-sleeve is printed on thicker than usual paper; almost verging on card stock. Near perfect with just an inoffensive crease to the bottom corner area.
Record: Near Mint.....wonderful shine to both sides of the heavy and rigid vinyl.....only a couple of hairlines are noticed under daylight. Both labels are almost flawless showing hardly any spindle traces. The audio is as good as it gets....stunning sound from start to finish.
