I'LL BE LISTING SOME GREAT JAZZ IN THE COMING WEEKS. CONSERVATIVE GRADING, KEEP CHECKING BACK!
Up for auction is "Barney," a live date recorded in April '59 by Wilen, Dorham and co. and very seldom shows up.
First mono press with yellow RCA labels, some wear on A side label.
Vinyl: G+ I'm trying to be detailed and conservative here due to the rarity. Played a bunch of times but has no tics or skips at all when played. The background is light until you get to the inner grooves. A bit of distortion there. I took pics up close to the grayed grooves at the inner songs. Side one has some distortion the last couple minutes, side 2 only has brief distortion when they restate the theme at the end. Still very listenable, if you have tone controls on preamp or a mono cart, it should mostly eliminate the distortion. First songs on each side and majority of record plays great with no tics.
Cover: VG- No splits but a lot of general rubbing and wear, see pics. Sticker and old tape stains on back. Acceptable copy of this rarity!
