Description
This is a very nice copy of Classic Records 180g test pressing of Fritz Reiner’s recording of Bartok’s Music for Strings, Percussion, and Celesta, and Hungarian Sketches with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on two single-sided 180g record. The pressing date of side A is “May 24 1995” and is stamped “LSC-2374/A1”. The pressing date of side B is “Jun 01 1995” and is stamped “LSC-2374/B2RE”.When I first bought it new, the records were cleaned with a VPI record cleaner and treated with LAST record preservative. More recently it was recleaned with Audio Intelligent Fluids on a VPI cleaner and on an Audio Desk ultra sonic record cleaner. It has also been demagnetized with a Furutech DeMag. It plays with very little surface noise with only a few light ticks here and there over the two sides. There are no scratches on the records. I have only played the record a few times on various VPI tables I have owned (HW-19 MKIV, TNT 3.5, and Classic 4) using either Lyra or Benz Mico Ruby cartridges. The covers is a plain white jacket with the date and matrix number information stamped on the upper right corner. There no seam splits but the upper left corner of record 2 is compressed as shown in the photograph. Only side one of each LP has a label which indicates it is a “Test Pressing” pressed by RTI along with the matrix information and date. Side two has a blank white label and is smooth. I purchased these records new from Classic Records about 15 years ago when they were selling off their test pressings. Multiple records can be combined in an order to save shipping costs.
