No cut out,  no punch out, no cut corner, no funkiness, no smell.  Cover seam split is only significant cosmetic detraction, and can be fixed as all material is there.

Cover:  With this many pics, I do not grade covers.  I can say colors are right, and the shrink as almost all there. There are no big scratches or marks on the cover. Corners are good, but shy of perfect. The spine is also near mint.  Visible ring wear front and back. Inner sleeve is lined and has not splits (aftermarket).  The Gatefold inner is near mint, but the cover is beginning to split at top and bottom, very clean minor split, easy to fix (see below).

Vinyl:

NM- Sound VG++ Vinyl Condition  Under bright light, at an angle I could see a few superficial sleeve scuffs and a couple of un-feelable short hairlines.  There are no marks around spindle.  Full factory gloss and kept very clean. A clean LP not a cleaned up LP.   Play graded, great sonic, quiet and smooth play.  There was some resistance as I carefully put LP over spindle.  This means I was most likely, the first person to put this on a platter.

Another Earth is amazing, one of the first lps that Gary Bartz ever cut done during a time when he'd been working with Max Roach and a super-hip group of younger soul jazz players who would go onto shape the sound of the 70s. Bartz leads a group that includes Stanley Cowell, Freddy Waits, Charles Tolliver, Pharoah Sanders, and Reggie Workman -- and the music sounds like it was lifted from one of the best albums on Strata East from the 70s. There's no funk, no vocals, no weird rhythms just pure spiritual jazz, played to perfection, and filled with a creative vitality that most of the players had lost a few years later.

Condition is subjective, please spend a moment or two to zoom in and decide for yourself if this is a record you wish to invest in.  To truly enjoy this record get an original copy, original mix and in a condition that does not compromise the sonics and provides full range sound.  

None of my records have been machine cleaned, I prefer not to do so.  All may benefit from such a clean, I just prefer to use light brushing to clean my LP's. 

Also, unless specified, none of my record covers are sleeves have been repaired, I would rather you get the LP in original condition and decide if you wish to fix a minor seam split or not.  You will not get records from me that have been clumsily pasted or taped together and passed of as near mint.

A few words on grading. 

Ebay provides an option for grading LP's but does NOT offer any definition(s) for their grades, rendering them meaningless and therefore useless.

Below is a brief description of my grading outline.

Mint (M)

Absolutely perfect in every way. Certainly never been played, possibly even still sealed. Should be used sparingly as a grade, if at all.

Near Mint (NM or M-)

The record should show no obvious signs of wear. A 45 RPM or EP sleeve should have no more than the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other signs of slight handling. An LP cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or other noticeable similar defects. No cut-out holes, either. And of course, the same should be true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves and the like. Basically, an LP in near mint condition looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap.

Very Good Plus (VG+)

A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are "OK". The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. The center hole will not have been misshapen by repeated play. Picture sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP cover may have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount. In general, if not for a couple things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint. All but the most mint-crazy collectors will find a Very Good Plus record highly acceptable.

Very Good (VG)

Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them.

Good (G), Good Plus (G+)

A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear (on a styrene record, the groove will be starting to turn white). A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the cover.

Poor (P), Fair (F)

The record is cracked, badly warped, and won't play through without
skipping or repeating. The picture sleeve is water damaged, split on
all three seams and heavily marred by wear and writing. The LP cover
barely keeps the LP inside it. Inner sleeves are fully seam split, crinkled, and written upon.
