Battles' second album 'Gloss Drop' was perhaps their most melodic and mischevious to date. The album featured an impressive guestlist including Matias Aguayo, Gary Numan and Kazu Makino. Following the album release Gloss drop spawned an ambitious remix project Dross Glop. Album retakes included UK futurebeats Kode 9, Hudson Mohawke, old and new school hip hop Alchemist, Shabazz Palaces, technoviaBerlin The Field, Kangding Ray, Gui Boratto, New York artrock Gang Gang Dance, Patrick Mahoney and even HansJoachim Roedelius' legendary Qluster.
