I bought this on November 20th 1973 at The New Theatre, Oxford. The ''No Ruinous Feud'' tour was under way and ending, actually, and I hitch-hiked from Banbury with my best mate and we stayed behind to chat to Mike Heron and Robin Williamson, being fans of the group.
I had bough this from the foyer before the gig, and they autographed it for me, along with Jack Ingram, Malcolm Le Maistre and there is one autograph I cannot remember, but I think might have been a woman, as by this time Licorice and Rose had left, and obviously also split from there respective boyfriends in the band! We were also fans of the girls, and remember asking Mike Heron about them, and he was pleasant, but just said they had left.
I bought it, took it home, played it, didn't like it, and it sat in my collection until today when I took it out, looked at it, took the photos, and have listed it. The only wear is the spine, where I have clearly thumbed passed to other Incredible String Band titles I DO like!
It is a 1970 release, but is the correct First Press for 1972/3, with the Matrices being:
Side 1: ILPS 9140 A-1U. Mother - GT (Being 10). Stamper - 1.
Side 2: ILPS 9140 B-1U. Mother - RP (Being 26). Stamper - 1.
The vinyl is close to being Near Mint, but I would say Ex++ as I did play it, and it has the feint sign of a spindle mark on the centre label. I test played it carefully and it is as new in sound. So, fab.
It is on the First Press Island label, with Witch on Broomstick.
This is the original E. J. Day single sleeve, and plain inner.
This is a collector's item, hence the price, and when you see others being sold in average condition, with sticker marks or biro marks for £39.00, this is a bargain!
