Description
This original while label promotional 2 LP set by The Beach Boys is a rare find for music collectors. The record features the album Carl & The Passions: So Tough, which was produced by the Beach Boys themselves and released in 1972 under the Brother/Reprise label, along with the classic 1966 Pet Sounds.
Great condition for its 50+ years age. See photos. There is minor creasing to the corner of the gatefold cover with possible indication of slight water damage to the edge and slight mustiness from basement storage. The records sound fine. Grading based on visual inspection and close listening, not by pro rating company. Kept in storage in a smoke-free, pet-free house for decades.
This record is perfect for Beach Boys fans and vinyl collectors who want to add a scarce item to their collection. A true cult classic.
Carl and the Passions is packaged as a two-disc set, paired with a mono Pet Sounds (1966). Mike Love explained that the group had recently bought the rights to five of their out-of-print Capitol albums for seven years. Love said, "The thing we want to do is a combination of bringing everyone up to date and giving everyone a chance to get an old collectors' item that has been discontinued by the record company.”
